Where did all the dragons go??????
On this great land of ours there once were many dragons. You would see them everywhere; on the hills, in the rivers, and most importantly guarding the Sacred Places. The people lived with the Land, and so with lived with the Dragons.
Then, as so often happens in stories, the Land was taken by a self proclaimed, foolish King. He wanted the glory, he wanted everyone to do what they were told, but he didnt want the Dragons and he cared nothing for the Land. He declared that he was indeed stronger than the Dragons, and more important than the Land, and so, to proove a point, (as these foolish Kings so often do) he ordered his knights to go forth and slay all the Dragons.
What he didn't know though, was that Dragons are of course immortal. They cannot die, they live forever, they always have! (but then I did tell you that this was a foolish King) and the Dragons were too clever to let such a fool discover their immortality. Why, they didnt want to live forever chained up beneath dark castles, or put on show in some sort of "living museum" so the Dragons hid as best they could....................................................
